The Effect of NutriGrow Humic Acid & Carbon Based Organic
Compound Liquid Fertilizer on Paddy Cultivation

Jian San Jiang Agriculture Research Centre, 2008.

Preface:

This test was carried out after the completion of regular fertilization on paddy cultivation. Hence NutriGrow was not applied for basal fertilization and  top-dressing, NutriGrow was only applied twice for foliage spray.

1。General Situation of the test

The test was implemented on test plots in the Jian San Jiang Agriculture Research Centre paddy field. The weather of the location was of continental monsoon climate in Frigid-Temperate Zone, belonging to the lower limit of third Cumulative Temperature Zone. The test plots has been used for paddy cultivation for some years,  soil would be turned up in Autumn and refinished in Spring. Type of soil: meadow white pasty soil with pH value 5.9, soil organic matter: 3.6%, N: 202.00 mg/Kg, P2O5: 10.784 mg/Kg,  K2O: 141.00 mg/Kg, Fe: 218.0 mg/Kg, Mn: 55.0 mg/Kg,  Cu: 3.3 mg/Kg,  and  Zn: 4.3 mg/Kg.

2.Test Materials and Methods

a) Experimental paddy breed: Kong Yu 131, provided by Jian San Jiang Branch Company, Beidahuang Seeding Group.  Fertilizer for experiment: NutriGrow Humic Acid Based Organic Liquid Fertilizer, provided by Greentech Suzhou.  (High potassium formulation with Primary elements of nitrogen > 80 g/L, P2O5 >80 g/L, K2O > 120 g/L, humic acid > 40g/L, organic matter> 15%).

b) Test  method: large plot comparison,  size of each Treatment  was 0.14 Ha

c) Design of Test Treatments: prior to the tests, all test plots were completed with same regular basal and top-dressing fertilizations.

CK: no foliage spray of fertilizer.

Treatment 1: 0.75 K g/Ha
Treatment 2: 1.5 Kg/Ha
Treatment 3: 2.25 Kg/Ha
Treatment 4: 3.0 Kg/Ha

d) Field Management:

April 14, 2008 sow seeds. Applied basal fertilizer with American DAP: 120 Kg/Ha, urea: 15 Kg/Ha, and potassium sulphate : 99 Kg/Ha prior seedling transplanting.

Paddy seedlings were transplanted by machine on May 18, 2008.

On May 29:  applied regulative fertilization after the application of tillering fertilization, total 90 Kg/Ha of urea, then followed by  head out fertilization  with 75 Kg/Ha of urea and 66 Kg/Ha of potassium sulphate.

On July 20 and July 30, 2008:  applied foliage spray on both days with high potassium formulation of NutriGrow liquid fertilizer with dilution 300-500 times.

Sampling was taken before paddy ripeness at 3 locations per each Treatment: each location covered 2 square meters, and samples from 2 dibbling holes  to check effective number of ears, number of ears per square meter; grains collected were dried up and threshed. Then the rice yield checked and the weight of 1,000 grains measured.

e) Observations & Tests Analysis

It was observed that the treatments with the application of high potassium formulation foliage spray twice each of 2.25 K g/Ha and 3.0 K g/Ha, had resulted paddy leaves and ears yellowing and matured earlier than other Treatments.

3.Test Results Analysis

a. Analysis derived from the Test Results:

Foliage spray of NutriGrow liquid fertilizer on paddy improved  seed setting rates,  increased yield and increased 1,000-grain-weight.

b. Analysis derived from the Plant Diseases Inspection Records:

NutriGrow liquid fertilizer enhanced the crop health and reduced crop diseases.

4.Product Valuation

Through the test of Greentech NutriGrow humic acid based organic compound liquid fertilizer on rice crop proved that it improved rice yields.

All treatments were applied foliage spray twice with high potassium formulation NutriGrow and found that the treatment with 1.5 Kg/Ha per application produced best results.
